Israeli pineapple

In Israel, pineapples were grown on an experimental scale back in the thirties, but only after they switched to growing them under plastic wrap or netting, it gradually became an agricultural industry. Since the early 1980s, pineapples in the country have been grown almost exclusively in the coastal zone. All products are consumed locally. Fresh fruits cannot be imported because they can spread diseases and pests. The most common variety in Israel is Kevin, intended for fresh produce.
